What is a Horizontal Lifeline System?
Horizontal Lifeline Systems are used in many of the fall restraint systems seen in today's rail yards and in other industrial locations.
Horizontal lifeline Systems are fairly common fall protection solutions in work areas that previously lacked existing anchor points, which are used for employees to attach to or 'tie-off', as it is often referred to. These systems are somewhat simple in how they work, but the structure and materials used in manufacturing of the units are very heavy duty.
When using Horizontal lifeline Systems in railcar and truck load/unloading applications, a gallows style system is often used. The structure is erected to keep in place a main cable. It is this main cable that the employee hooks onto. Should a fall occur, the worker never hits the ground, as he's attached to a cable.
All GREEN Horizontal lifeline Systems are engineered for optimum operator safety and are in compliance with governing OSHA standards for your specific application.
When used in conjunction with an employee's personal protective gear, a horizontal lifeline can provide an amazing feeling of confidence and safety, which all workers deserve. It's interesting to note that similar systems are used in show business. When you see an entertainer floating or flying through the air, the system being used is often very similar to a Horizontal lifeline System.
